Each one of our skilled doctors performs surgery in the hospital's dedicated surgical suite. Elective surgeries are scheduled in the mornings Monday through Friday, and most patients are able to go home later that same afternoon. Emergency surgery is worked into the schedule, very often within a few minutes to hours of arrival. We are well versed in everything from spays and neuters to complex abdominal surgeries.

Since each animal is different, the doctors customize an anesthetic and drug protocol based on a patient's age, preoperative blood work, and other existing medical conditions. We understand that many owners are concerned about anesthesia in their older, aging pets. All of the doctors are comfortable with the challenges that middle-aged to geriatric patients can produce. At least 85% of the anesthetic procedures done at the hospital are in patients 10 years and older.

Our doctors and staff are quite happy to address any concerns that our owners have about surgery on their furry (and scaled) friends.

Pain Management

Post-operative pain management is an important tool in reducing patient stress and facilitating the healing process. Analgesics and Anti-Inflammatories are tailored to each individual patient to maximize pain relief and comfort.
